Ei Electronics is proud to have a long-standing association in supporting the BT Young Scientist Exhibition
In 2017, second level students Erick & Prosper were successful in winning Young Scientist Tanzania. Their winning entry was an innovative smoke alarm system that they developed using mobile phones. As winner’s of Young Scientist Tanzania they were brought to Dublin to exhibit at the BT Young Scientist Exhibition Ireland.
As part of their trip with BT, we invited them to our Shannon Campus; Where they got to meet CEO, Mick Guinee and Engineering Director, Dr Mike Byrne to demonstrate their innovation.
But the real magic happened when the Young Scientists returned home… Equipped with 100 Ei smoke detectors.
The boys donated these alarms to a local girls school with no fire safety devices; D’Alzon Girls Secondary School, Tanzania. Voluntarily installing an alarm in each classroom and hallway.
“As part of our ongoing CSR initiatives, we are delighted to support these innovative Young Scientists. We have no doubt they will go on to contribute to and make a difference in society”
