We have started our journey to reduce our carbon footprint and the impact we have on the environment. We are undertaking many projects and initiatives to achieve these goals in the years ahead.
Our buildings are designed using state-of-the-art energy saving systems and technologies. In 2021 we expanded our Shannon campus by creating the first ‘Near Zero Energy’ Building (NZEB) in Shannon. Today, we are continuously upgrading our existing facilities with more eco-friendly and efficient energy solutions. Our UK headquarters in Oswestry combines the latest in renewable technologies with an environmentally friendly environment to reduce the impact on the local landscape and wildlife.
Each year we undertake multiple projects to further reduce our carbon footprint. These span all aspects of our operations from the design through manufacture, distribution and end of life. They arelead by our Green Team, drawn from various functions and levels of the business. Furthermore. They are responsible for steering key areas critical to achieving our 2030 goals supported by Sustainability Ambassadors throughout the business.

We encourage a ‘zero waste’ approach across all operations, from plastics used in manufacturing, down to printing paper in our offices. Our customisedmachines used in manufacturing are designed by our engineers with this in mind. As we reduce our packaging and continue the transition to more digital and less paper-based solutions, our impact on the environment is further limited.
Wherever possible we use green renewable energy in our manufacturing operations. We will be furthering our efforts in this regard through the ‘greening’ of our supply chain, and introducing more sustainable travel practices across our own workforce.

We harvest rainwater for use in our buildings and operations across the UK and Ireland. To further conserve this precious natural resource, we have also introduced automatic water filling stations across our Shannon campus, ensuring less wastage of drinking water. We recognise the opportunity to further improve on contribution in this area, through sanitary water savings for example, and will continue to further develop initiatives in this regard.
We aid in preserving the eco-systems of those who share our homes with us. Whether it’s creating a safe space for hedgehogs at Aico in the UK, or promoting additional tree planting at our Shannon Campus, we aim to protect earth’s vulnerable biosphere and the creatures within it. We are keen to explore opportunities to make a much greater contribution in this regard within the wider communities where we operate both in Ireland and overseas.
